Shaq traded to Cleveland
So it was announced today that Shaquille O'neal was traded to Cleveland. I guess the question is, is this what Cleveland needs to get them over the hump, or will it bring them down like it did Phoenix? Phoenix I think, gets the better end of the deal with Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, as they fit in with their style much more than Shaq did.

Think it was mostly a salary dump for the Suns as they took their run with Shaq, Amare and Nash etc and it didnt work.
Ben Wallace may retire i thought I heard and he'd only be owed like 1/4 of his salary as a buy out or something Shaq is very competitive (overall and with Kobe) and concerned about his legacy. I heard this mentioned on ESPN and it fits really well if shaq can help Cavs win a title, he would be responsible for helping the 3 greatest perimeter players (and maybe three greatest players) since MJ win their first titles (Kobe, Wade and Lebron) i just know the team I root for (mildly ) is stuck in limbo. Just mediocre enough to make playoffs but then not get a draft pick worth anything ok i am depressed now lol, back to dreaming of Giselle |

I think CLE got a good deal. Shaq will help get the double teams off of Lebron. On the other hand, Shaq will also clog up the lane and make it harder for Lebron to drive.
The Cavs are gonna need a new offensive playbook...for one year. Then Shaq will retire and LBJ will end up as a Knick.

Honestly, now that I think about this more, I think it's a good move. It takes some of the scoring burden off Lebron, and gives them a strong offensive rebounder to give him second chances. I don't think Lebron getting to the basket will be an issue. Shaq did play with Kobe and Wade, and they never had issues with that. If Shaq can stay healthy, this will be a good fit. Also, I think the idea of James going to NY is kind of absurd, because if he goes anywhere, it will be a place where he can win a championship.

it's a great move on their part -- no explanation needed -- now that lebron will have another big name with him it'll be SO much easier since the pressure won't ONLY be on him -- now they just need to watch out for the magics next year =| superman is a BEAST haha

well, when i heard first about trade, i didnt think that was a ring trade, it was more a anti-howard trade (and of course a keep lebron trade). howard make so much hurt in that team. Is a good trade, but reamins to be seen if it works. Is not the same, the regulat season and the playoffs.
there are another trades now, the rumor of vince carter to orlando, of the trade of jefferson to the spurs. the spurs with they three big (parker, ginobili and duncan) in good condition and now with jefferson, are again a candidate to the ring. One trade can change everything, look the lakers and the pau gasol trade

The Spurs are gonna be a beast in the West, no doubt about it. I have to agree with you about the Shaq trade be more for someone to match up against Howard than anything else. It will be interesting to see if this helps the Cavs or just makes takes away from Lebron's game.

I thought the Cavaliers only had one player on the "team"...
LaBron is a crybaby...and rude. If I was a Cleveland fan, I'd want him gone.
