mma random odds and ends
first for ufc:
biggest thing coming up for the ufc is of course ufc 101 next saturday august 8th which features 2 main event fights.. first is bj penn defending his 155 belt against ken florian...in a fight i cant fucking wait for.. 2nd is anderson silva moving up to lhw to face forrest griffin... onto other news tito ortiz has resigned with the ufc....and rumor has it he will probably be facing mark coleman in late 2009 vitor belfort has too, he will be facing rich franklin at ufc 103 on september 19 ufc has yet to come to an agreement with fedor...fedor's management team are a bunch of douchebags....the ufc has bent over backwards for those fucks....dont expect him in the ufc anytime soon... dan henderson has been confirmed to get the next title shot against anderson silva after silva faces forrest....which of course will be a rematch... on to strikeforce: nick diaz will be facing replacement jay hieron for the welterweight title on the undercard of the gina carano cyborg event on august 15th which now makes the event 3 title fights..... the affliction fight between babalu sabrol and gegard mousasi has been moved to the strikeforce card... im leaving out a lot of the strikeforce stuff and other smaller organizations like dream because a lot of you probably dont follow that....im like really hardcore into that shit....

Anyone gonna watch Kimbo and Roy fight tonight ? As much and I want to see Kimbo lose, I really don't want for him to lose to Nelson, that boy is his own biggest fan, by size and arrogance, I'm surprised he didn't wear his own T-shirt to the first episode like Kimbo did . . .
And I wholeheartedly agree with you Beece, UFC needs Fedor, Lesnar's light in the spotlight is gonna be shortlived. And Fedor is the last of my HW favorites, watching him fight and beat both Minotauro and Cro Cop in Pride was tough cause those are my top 3. Tonight will be interesting . . . |

He needs to work his sprawl more, and even Dana said it, those punches Nelson was throwing weren't even hurting punches. I give Rampage much credit though, he knew that Kimbo lacked ground game, and he gave him some good escapes.
But Nelson is just too fuckin stuck on himself, I hated that guy from the first episode and he just added more on to it this evening. |

you cant call this guy a joke, he has more experience than anyone else on the show...for christ sakes theres like 6 former nfl players...those guys are jokes, theyre football players, not fighters... he beat brad imes who was the finalist that rashad fought in the TUF 2 finale... hes lost to jeff monson who is one of the best submission guys in the hw division, andre arlovski who is a former ufc champ and ben rothwell who is now fighting cain valsquez for the number one contender's match to see who might fight brock lesnar next for the ufc title....the dude has been around...he also beat the guy bo cantrell that kimbo beat in kimbo's first fight in elite xc.. thats the reason rashad wanted him to fight kimbo, he knew he had the best chance of beating kimbo... he put kimbo in the crucifix and kimbo could do nothing...he couldnt escape, kimbo is gonna have to learn how to fight on the ground if hes gonna succeed in the ufc......if he cant beat fat roy then how the hell is he gonna compete with guys like brock and carwin who are better on the ground than roy, stronger than roy, more explosive than roy, and more vicious and destructive than roy...the guy has way too much to learn

I'm not doubting Nelson has the experience to win TUF, but that isn't saying much considering the competition he has. I'm glad Kimbo lost, I am by no means a fan of his. I just don't think there's anyone on this show that is going to amount to shit in the UFC.

the sad thing about this season is its supposed to be the best season ever...yet it contains the worst talent of any season ever...
kimbo gets a second fight...which is totally unfair.....dana white is such a fucking tool...he spends 2 years talking so much shit about kimbo not being worth a fuck and that hes not a true mma fighter...then brings him on the show...he easily loses his first fight....now dana is making excuses..saying "oh well he didnt really suffer any damage..roy was just too big for him...he still has a bright future"...what happened to all the shit talk dana was giving him back when kimbo was with elite xc? fucking tool... so now that kimbo lost, they have it set up where someone on his team cant fight so now kimbo gets a 2nd chance.....well why not give everyone who loses a 2nd chance? they built this entire show around kimbo and chose the shittiest fighters... thats why they chose a bunch of nfl players, guys who havent spent their entire lives fighting...so that kimbo could get easy wins...but i guess dana wasnt expecting to have rashad match roy against kimbo so quick....so now kimbo is gonna fight some wack ass former nfl player whos never fought before and kill the guy.. wes sims will prolly win, or roy nelson...one of those 2 im thinking

i know what dana was thinking...the coach who wins the fights gets to choose the next fights....dana was thinking that rampage would have won a fight which would have let rampage choose the next fight.....and page would have had kimbo fight rashads shittiest fighter and kimbo would have gotten an easy win with a fabulous knockout that they could replay over and over again....
but when shads fighters kept winning it allowed shad to make kimbo fight his best fighter... dana probably didnt expect kimbo to win the show, but he was hoping that kimbo would get that one huge highlight reel knockout that they can play everytime kimbo makes his entrance for his ufc fights....and thats why hes getting the 2nd chance..so he can get redemption and hopefully fight a shitty guy and get that nasty ko

I keep hearing from people that Kimbo makes it to the TUF finals.
I agree with you completely. The show is built around Kimbo to succeed even though Dana has shit talked him for years. Kimbo has already stated that he is training for his first UFC fight in December. Dunno if he wins TUF, but it appears that it doesn't matter what the outcome will be, Dana is gonna ride the Kimbo hype.

Bros, I gotta say, I lost alot of respect for Rampage after this week's TUF episode, he and his crew were out getting breakfast the day of the fight, and didn't even get Demico warmed up much less get him revved up to fight and when he loses, he doesn't even offer him encouragement but Rashad did, and am not sure if he did that because it was the right thing to do or because he wanted to show up Rampage, in any case, Rampage screwed tha pooch !!!
